Meet the New Ares Carboxytherapy

Ares

Unique on the market with heated gas

ARES has a device that heats the CO₂ prior to insufflation, which significantly reduces discomfort during treatment. This increases the patients’ adherence to the treatment, as well as potentiates results, as the cold gas causes constriction of blood vessels, a principle contrary to the desired action.

Higher precision in parameters

The equipment has a software combined with sensors that allows the therapist full control over the parameters volume, flow rate and total volume administered, offering greater precision in the volume of CO2 infused during therapy.

Current high volt

ARES presents an important differential for the treatment of stretch marks and wrinkles. The combined use of High Volt current with carboxytherapy enables a more comfortable treatment with better clinical results. The High Volt current, when used simultaneously with the infusion of CO2, reduces the patient’s painful sensation, at the same time it favors the stimulation of fibroblasts in the treated site, enhancing the physiological effects.

About Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy consists of intradermal and subcutaneous infusion of carbon dioxide (medicinal CO2) through a sterile equipment connected to a needle with flow, speeds and pressures controlled by equipment, directly in the areas of cellulite, localized fat, sagging skin and stretch marks. CO2 is widely used for dermatological and aesthetic treatments.

Ares features Carboxytherapy technology and allows for precise intradermal and subcutaneous techniques. It has a device that heats the CO2 prior to insufflation, which significantly reduces discomfort during treatment. This increases the patients’ adherence to the treatment, as well as potentiates results, as the cold gas causes constriction of blood vessels, a principle contrary to the desired action.

High flow effective

For aesthetic treatments

ARES has a flow rate of up to 300 ml/min. Recent studies demonstrate that the technique, using a greater number of points per area, with smaller volumes and higher flow velocities, is more effective in the treatment of localized fat.

greater precision even more comfort

Exclusive rack

ARES has an exclusive Rack for your comfort, in which the best accommodation for the gas cylinder is possible, facilitating the locomotion of the equipment. Equipped with locks for your safety.

Key information

Mechanism of action and physiological effects

Carboxytherapy originated in France, in 1932, and refers to the administration of carbon dioxide (CO₂) with therapeutic proposals. Initially, the treatment was performed percutaneously, through the so-called heated carbonated water baths, that is, the application of water saturated in CO₂ directly on the patients’ skin. The technique was used to treat arteriopathies and ulcers. The results obtained encouraged further studies, provoking the expansion of indications for other treatments.

After the development of new technologies, the application was no longer topical and CO₂ started to be injected directly into the subcutaneous tissue, which guarantees faster and better results.

Histological evidence of the effects of CO₂ gas infiltration in subcutaneous adipose tissue suggests possible lipolytic effects, as well as the stimulation of tissue remodeling. After treatment with carboxytherapy, due to the increase in blood flow, the regions with cellulite show improved tissue nutrition and more efficient drainage, which results in a smoother and healthier looking skin.

Carboxytherapy has strong potential for the treatment of wrinkles, sagging skin and dark circles, as well as showing good results in the treatment of stretch marks. The CO₂ used is medicinal (99.9% purity) and identical to that normally produced by cellular metabolism. It is non-toxic and non-embolic.

Therapeutic Effects

The therapeutic effects of carboxytherapy are based on the body’s natural physiological responses:

  • Bohr Effect: both O₂ and CO₂ use hemoglobin, a protein contained in red blood cells, as a transport medium. The Bohr effect is the nomenclature used to designate the tendency of oxygen to leave the bloodstream when the concentration of carbon dioxide increases, facilitating the release of oxygen from hemoglobin and generating tissue hyperoxygenation.
  • Increased local blood flow: Increasing the concentration of CO₂ and decreasing the local pH relax the smooth muscles that surround the arterioles and control the volume of blood supplied to the tissues. With this relaxation, consequently, there is an increase in local blood flow, which generates an improvement in the supply of nutrients and the removal of waste and local toxins. In addition, drainage, both blood and lymph, is optimized.
  • Tissue distension: is caused at the application site, by the volume of CO₂ It activates a signaling cascade of the tissue repair and regeneration process, causing the activation of cells called fibroblasts, which produce new collagen and elastin fibers, improving skin quality. In cellulite, this effect is also very important, as the involvement occurs at the hypodermic level, with consequences also in the dermal tissue.

Reduction of adipose tissue: the increase in local metabolism culminates with the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, with the release of catecholamines into the bloodstream, adrenaline and noradrenaline. Catecholamines bind to their specific receptors located on the adipocyte membrane, which promotes the activation of the lipolytic cascade within the adipocyte. The LHS (hormone sensitive lipase) enzyme promotes the hydrolysis of triglyceride into fatty acids and one of glycerol. After the lipolysis reaction, the fatty acids are released into the bloodstream so that, later, they are used as energy fuel for body metabolism, or else they are redeposited in adipocytes through the process of lipogenesis.

High Volt Current

High Volt current (High Voltage Pulsed Current, also known as HVPC – High Voltage Pulsed Current), is a current with twin pulses of high amplitude (high voltage) and short duration. The waveform is single-phase (current flows in one direction only) and high voltage pulses cause skin resistance to decrease, making the current comfortable and tolerable.

The therapeutic effects of the High Volt current are based on the use of a single-phase pulse current that causes an increase in electrical charges in the tissue, exerting favorable physiological effects that trigger the tissue repair process.

High-voltage electrostimulation is a means of administering electrical stimuli to promote tissue healing, increase blood flow and ATP production, phagocytosis, improve oxygenation and transport in membranes, reduce edema, stimulate fibroblasts and cells epithelial cells, DNA synthesis, cell mitosis, infection control, aid in the organization of the collagen matrix, stimulation of skin lesion contraction with migration of cells from the epidermis to the center of the lesion caused by electrolifting.
